What are the scars?
It is a change that occurs on the surface of the skin whereas it leads to the change in color of the skin accompanied by disturbances in the regularity of the skin. The skin may bulge out as a polyp or make it hollow like a trench or a pit. This disturbance results when the skin got a certain accident like a burn, or a severe infection in the skin that has caused blisters and infections such as acne or chickenpox, which leave a severe impact on the skin.
Why do people resort to treating the scars?
The scars contribute to disturbing our life, whereas we resort to hiding them or doing surgery to get rid of them, because of their bad appearance that distorts the skin. Also, the scars lead to the appearance of pits in the face, which will expose the person to embarrassment and lack of self-confidence. Most of the people who are suffering from scars are at the age of youth, whereas most youths suffer from scars that are the result of acne and oily skin. Then this stage passes, leaving undesirable effects that distort the shape, beauty, and luster of the skin, and sometimes acne leaves annoying scars on our faces or the rest of the body.
The Type of scars:
Keloid scars: this type of scar its size is bigger than the wound that caused this scar, As a result of the tissue surrounding the wound growing more than the wound.
Shrinking scar: it is a result of a certain accident like a burn, whereas the skin surrounding the skin looks shrinking.
pigmented scar: it is a pigmented scar on the skin, whereas it is a color darker than its surrounding skin.
Acne scar: comes in the form of small pits in the skin of the face and leaves some traces after the removal of this acne.
What is the operation of removing the scars?
The operation of treating scars: it is the operation of removing the impacts that resulted from the type of scars mentioned before, especially the deep ones that penetrate into the skin tissue, which are called (Hypertrophic scars), and some of them may be painful or itchy and are known as (Keloid scars) those scars can be removed by the laser method. But for the scars that affect and limit muscle movement and cause functional problems, which are called (contractures), these types of scars need surgical intervention and cannot be treated by known methods such as removing scars by laser
Methods of treating scars:
1- some scars can be treated with special creams and ointments.
2- some scars can not be treated by creams and ointments. therefore, we resort to using the laser to remove those scars.
3- there is another way to remove the scars by fractional laser.
4- Treating scars by injecting fillers and other similar materials.
5-Treating scars through surgical methods, whether they are excision of scars or skin grafts.
